Ernest Henry George Burrows, Service number 7/439, son of Samuel Burrows of Omihi, served in WW1. His son, Ernest Samuel Burrows, Service number 50072, was a Trooper in WW2 with the 4th Armoured Brigade.

Stephen CLEMENT was in both World Wars ( Service numbers 33304 and 313347) and made it home. He was listed as a gardener on enlistment and since he seemed to be a good shot, served as a rifleman. His next of kin was his mother, Mrs A. Clement who lived in Lower Hutt.
Thompson Dalzell came out Ireland with his family and he is buried at Balcairn. Of his sixteen known children, Henry Dazell married Mary Anne Ewart about 1881. (Both buried at Waikari)
They had: Albert Henry Frederick David Shaw William Thompson Leslie Ewart Mabel Elizabeth Adelaide Beatrice Crail Nelson Hazel Mary Leslie Ewart Dalzell married Lily McKenzie about 1927. She was his second wife. Like many of his family he was a farmer. |

David Sandford Fleming's brother, Sgt Robert Anthony Fleming, of the Canterbury Mounted Rifles, died Augsust 1915 at Gallipoli, aged 24.

FLORANCE
Augustus Florance, son of Augustus and Elizabeth Florance was born in New Zealand about 1878. He maried Edith Louise Ireland in 1907. Their know children were:
